Brown Swiss Continues to meet in Canton, Ohio

It's been a busy 24 hours in Canton. A new Ambassador has been named. Congrulations to Gianna Novak the new Ambassador and the Alternate is Maddy Mahlum.
Additional awards including scholarships, Young Achievement and Achievment winners were named. Congratulations to Chelsea Skidmore who won the coveted Achievement award!
The Fun Auction followed which raised $12,000 for the Youth Fund.

The Annual Meeting was held Friday morning, July 7. The Association had a good year ending with finances strong, a partnership formed with Genex, a change in the BSA fee schedule and a change to the PPR Formula to the following weights: 34P 28F 6 PL 10 UDC 6 MO 12 DPR and 4 Livability. Jeff True of New York, Danie Rieder of Wisconsin and Roger Read of Minnesota were elected to the board. Tom Portner was presented a Citation of Leadership for his years on the board.

The Awards Brunch honored the high herds and individual cows that excelled in the breed. Two cows, Glad Ray EJ Paris won the 2016 Living Lifetime Cow Award and Jonlee Secret Langwathby swept the J.P. Eves, H. R. Searles, Protein, Top ECM, Vernon C. Hull Total Performance and Cow for All Seasons Awards.



Three of the breed's highest honors were awarded today. The Young Breeder Award went to Adam and Kaitlin Spierings of Wisconsin. The Active Master Breeder was presented to Ron and Renee Michalovich of RNR Swiss in Ohio. The Historical Master Breeder Award was presented to Rex Mort of Pierceton, Indiana.
