Mid-East Spring National Cow Show

Judge Dean Dohle began the second day of the Mid-East Spring National Holstein Show in Columbus, Ohio, with a strong group of Junior Two-Year-Olds. Taking top honors in that class was a beautiful red heifer, Express-SMD Naynay-Red-ET, who won her class on Thursday evening in the Ohio Spring Dairy Expo Red & White Show. She is owned by Express-Stan-Mar-Dale of Urbana, Ohio, and sired by Addiction.

A beautiful Senior Two-Year-Old, Vale-O-Skene Lauthority Kitty, owned by Kyle & Kris Ackley and Matt Oechsle of East Liberty and Van Wert, Ohio, won the class and was later named Honorable Mention Intermediate Champion. She is sired by Lauthority.

T-Triple-T Play It Again-ET took top honors in the Junior Three-Year-Old Class for owners Triple T of North Lewisburg. She is sired by Fever. She was also named Intermediate Champion of the Show.

Qcove-W JMK Curan Darcy-ET, sired by Sid and owned by Quietcove Farms, Wapakoneta, Ohio topped the Senior Three-Year-Old class and was named Reserve Intermediate Champion of the Show.

Intermediate Champions of the Junior Show were the Senior Two-Year-Olds. Cambridge Atwood Ellie-ET, sired by Atwood and owned by Kris Ackley and Blake Heger was named the Intermediate Champion. The second-place Junior owned Senior Two was Beardsly Atwood Gwynne-ET, another Atwood daughter, owned by Victoria & Emily Deam of Sugarcreek, Ohio. Gwynne was also named Junior Best Bred & Owned of the Junior Show for her exhibitors.

Intermediate Champions of the open show were the Junior and Senior Three-Year-Olds.

A beautiful class of Four-Year-Olds paraded before Judge Dohle. Winning the class was the ultra-dairy Bucks-Pride Gold Chip Winie owned by Topp-View Farms of Botkins, Ohio. She is sired by Gold Chip.

The Ackley brothers took home the first-place Five-Year-Old class award with another Atwood daughter, Budjon-JK Atwood Ekira-ET. Ekira went on to be the Grand Champion of the Junior show as well as Reserve Grand of the open show.

T-Triple-T Durham Poppi returned to the ring in rare form taking home the blue ribbon in the Aged Cow class with her style and angularity according to Judge Dohle. Owned by Triple T & Entourage, she is a Durham daughter. She later went on to be named Senior and Grand Champion of the show.

Whiteleather Holsteins of Minerva, Ohio, won the 150,000 Pound Cow class with Whiteleather Sizzle 1440-ET, a Shottle daughter.

The Ackley boys finished out the day with both Senior, Reserve Senior and Grand and Reserve Grand Champion awards of the Junior Show with the Five-Year-Old Atwood, Budjon-JK ATwood Ekira-ET and their first-place Junior Aged Cow, another Atwood daughter, Maiz-N-Blu Atwood Alegra-ET.

The winning Aged Cow and first-place Five-Year-Old were named the Senior Champions and Grand Champions of the Mid-East Spring National Show for their owners Triple T, Enterouge and the Ackley boys.

The Five-Year-Old was tapped for Supreme Champion of the Ohio Spring Dairy Expo Junior Show for Kris & Kyle Ackley

The Junior Champion of the Red & White Show was tapped for Supreme Junior Champion of the Ohio Spring Dairy Expo Junior Show for Elaina Lahmers. Wabash-Way Kalif Halo-Red was the 1st place Winter Yearling.

Poppi was tapped for Supreme Champion of the Ohio Spring Dairy Expo by the two judges, Dean Dohle & Herby Lutz.
Lewis Jones was presented the Spring Dairy Expo Award of Honor by John Griewe representing the Spring Dairy Expo
