After a successful sale the night before (check out the next issue of the HolsteinWorld Exclusive) it was back to business today with elections. The new president of the Holstein Association is President: Boyd Schaufelberger, Illinois; Vice President: Corey Geiger, Wisconsin; Region 2 Director: John Burket, Pennsylvania; Region 3 Director: Steve Moff, Ohio; Region 7 Director: Dwight Rokey, Kansas; At-Large Director: Dale Drendel, Illinois.
Pennsylvania Juniors beat the New York Juniors in the finals of the Junior Division of the Quiz Bowl Contest while Illinois took home top honors over California in the Senior Division of the Quiz Bowl.
The Distinguished Junior Member Finalists were Laura Lesher and Doug Boop of Pennsylvania, Emily Irwin, Illinois; Tony Lopes, California; Carley Jayne Krull of Wisconsin and Austin Schmitt, Minnesota.
The Distinquished Young Holstein Breeder is Craig Concross of Lodi, Wisconsin; the Elite Breeder is Olmar Farms, Sleepy Eye, Minnesota and the Distinguished Leadership Award was presented to Gerald "Jerry" Strandlund of Bellingham, Washington.
